Daily Budget

My overall budget for going to Perth, Australia i estimate i will need around  $5,000 dollars or more. To cover, flight pass, car rental, hostel stay, daily food, activities and just in case.

I estimate i will need around $200.00 per day or so, for activities, food and anything else that may catch my fancy.

Culture Shock

Culture Shock:

In Perth, like all other countries they have rules for the road. They drive on the left-hand side of the road rather than the right like here. So you would have to be careful when starting to drive in Perth. Maybe take it slow at first, just to get used to it. Or just sit on that side of the car and figure out where everything is. Just make sure to watch for passerby's. You cannot make a ‘U turn’ at a traffic light, unless there is a ‘U-turn permitted’ sign, allowing you to make the turn.
U-Turn Permitted sign

Some of the cuisine in Perth may be different then from what your used to here in Canada. Sure they with have some of the same dishes we do, but there is a lot you will not be used to.  You can get food from other places such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish, Thai, Ethiopian etc. Cafes are usually get flocks of coffee lovers a day. You can also experience quality food, such as real fish and chips at certain fish restaurants. Also because of Australians kind manner, many restaurants let you bring in your own beer and wine. To get used to the different foods there, you could try eating at Mediterranean restaurants, Thai etc, to get used to what they have there. But if you don’t like that kind of food, I'm sure you could find a hamburger somewhere or another…

Travel Barriers & Travel Motivators

Travel Motivators: Some travel motivators for people traveling to Australia could include:
The beautiful beaches: The beaches in Australia are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Which generates a large tourist appeal. Perth has over 12000km of beaches/coastlines, having plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.
Cottesloe Beach

Along with the beaches comes many activities that tourists love to take part in. Such as, swimming, surfing , snorkeling and just relaxing on the beach. Along the beaches are many different stores and restaurants along the boardwalk.  You could have dinner on the beach if you wanted to, how awesome would that be!
The White Elephant Beach Cafe

In Perth you can not only go snorkeling but also take diving lessons as well! You can go snorkeling in many different areas and watch magnificent animals swim below you, such as turtles, sharks, manta rays, coral and of course fish.
Kids Snorkeling in Australia Waters

Many people want to go to Australia for its warm weather in some of our coldest months. Since their summer is in December to February, it would be a great place to get away from our cold winters and go somewhere nice and warm!

And of course there is the option to see the magnificent creatures that hail from Australia. While you won’t find Dingos running wild in Perth, you can always go to a Wildlife park and see Koalas, snakes, dingos, wombats
Wild Dingo

Travel Barriers: Even though Australia is a magnificent place and my idea of the perfect vacation, it isn’t for others.

Some people may not like the temperatures in Australia, as it’s a usually warm country, for those people who don’t like warmth all the time or love our Canadian winters, this isn’t a good idea for them to go.

some of my friends. They’re Giant Spiders. Although Perth isn’t known to have these giant creepy crawlies, other parts of Australia do such as Sydney. The large size of these creatures is partly a rumour, but there are abnormally large spiders there. But for a fact, the Funnel Web Spider is real. It is the worlds most poisonous spider, which just happens to live in Australia. They create webs shaped like funnels, and also a bite could kill you. Unless you got the anti venom FAST. Hundreds of people are afraid of them, and wouldn’t want to go because of such.

Climate During Visit

In Australia, their climate conditions are different at times than ours as it has a Mediterranean climate. So for most of the year their climate is sunny and warm, even during their winter months the sun will still often be shining.

Summer in Perth starts in December, finishing in late February. The weather is warm and hot over the three summer months, it doesnt rain very often around this time as it is usually dry there. But you can also catch a cooling breeze while there as well. Average temperature for December is 27-30 degrees during the day, in January it ranges ruffly around 30-32 degrees, and in February it is around the same as January. Night temperatures are also nice and warm, ranging from 15 degrees - 21 degrees depending on the month.

Easy Perth Backpackers
To stay 19 nights in Easy Perth Backpackers it will be $436.00 AU. But I will have a bed in a four bed female dorm. So I will have some roomies.

Easy Perth Backpackers is only 7 minutes away from Perth itself and a 5 minute walk from Perth's CBD; the major rail and bus terminal.

Easy Perth Backpackers offers you a secure stay with kind friendly staff that will accommodate you on all your needs.

Facilities they have include, Internet access (WiFi), Two guest kitchens, washing machines/dryers, security lockers, luggage storage etc.

Health and Safety

Health and Safety: Before going to Australia, I have to see a Physician aproximately four/eight weeks before going for any vaccinations as they usually take around 2 weeks to come into effect. I must ask for the "International Certificate of Vaccination" this shows all the vaccinations I've had, so if they ask for it upon entry it can be provided.
For any other prescribed medications I should get a note from my Doctor saying what they are and what my medical condition is that i need this for.

Since I am going Perth, where Yellow Fever isn't common I don't necessarily need to get my Yellow Fever vaccination, but it is a good idea to get it anyways. Just to be safe!

I am leaving for Perth, Australia at 6:25 am from Toronto (YYZ). My flight will take two days to get there, but we must make two stops on the way. I couldn't find any cheaper tickers and also no non stop tickets so I had to settle for multiple stops. The flight in total is 29 hours and 50 mins. Quite along time! We will first be stopping in New York at the JFK Airport, then from there flying to Dubai (Dubai Intl.). And finally from Dubai we will go to Perth International Airport. I would have left on the 29th of December and arrived on the 31st, taking two days.
